Munin

The memory our projects keep.

Munin keeps each project as one timeline: where it started, what we decided and why, what we built and what it gave, newest first, with threads on every entry. Most of a timeline already exists in decision records, release notes and a repository's history, so Munin imports it and keeps it fresh without ever touching a comment. It is open to everyone with a kineuro account; an administrator or the creator of a timeline decides who can see it or comment on it.

A timeline

Every entry has a type: a decision with its question and alternatives, an action with its pull requests and releases, a result, a finding, a milestone or an open question. Entries link to each other, and the big picture above the line says where the project is and what waits on whom.

For the group

Anyone with a kineuro account signs in, and Munin keeps no passwords. An administrator or the creator of a timeline decides who can see it or comment on it. Munin holds decisions, counts and links, never data about people: the importer replaces anything that looks like an identifier or a data path before it is stored.

Open source

We wrote Munin ourselves and publish it under the AGPL: one Node process with one SQLite file, and a page with no framework. The design, the setup and the importer are described at github.com/kineuro/munin; anyone may run it for their own group.
